Community Solar Energy in North Somerset
Chelwood Community Energy is a Community Benefit Company that owns and operates a 5MW Solar Farm near the village of Chelwood, south of Bristol.
The Company’s objectives are to generate and promote the use of clean green energy, provide a return to investors and to support local good causes.
The Project
The project converted 22 acres of low grade agricultural land into a viable solar farm business that would benefit the environment, the community, the shareholders and the landowner.
Community Fund
A registered charity, Chelwood Community Fund, was established in order to allow CCE to meet it's objective in supporting local good causes.
